• *Freelance Writing and Blogging - 14 November 2009. The workshop aims to equip writers with skills, confidence, and knowledge to get published in mainstream and niche publications. The cost is $30. • *Creative Writing - 14 November 2009. Presented by the Fellowship of Australian Writers Western Australia (FAWWA), the workshop will explore poetry, prose and drama styles. • *A Thousand Words Festival - 21 November 2009 - Celebrating children's stories with free activities, competitions, workshops, book signings, and more. Local authors and illustrators will host storytime sessions with their books. These guests include Sally Rippin, Martine Murray, Tony Wilson, Andrew Daddo, Anna Pignataro, and Anna Walker. Festival entry is free.
