  • Fantastic Planet - Sydney Science Fiction and Fantasy Film Festival - 30 October to 6 November 2009. Sydney, New South Wales.
     
  • *Freelance Writing and Blogging - 14 November 2009. The workshop aims to equip writers with skills, confidence, and knowledge to get published in mainstream and niche publications.   • *Creative Writing - 14 November 2009. Presented by the Fellowship of Australian Writers Western Australia (FAWWA), the workshop will explore poetry, prose and drama styles.   • *A Thousand Words Festival - 21 November 2009 - Celebrating children's stories with free activities, competitions, workshops, book signings, and more. Local authors and illustrators will host storytime sessions with their books. These guests include Sally Rippin, Martine Murray, Tony Wilson, Andrew Daddo, Anna Pignataro, and Anna Walker. Festival entry is free.   • Aussiecon4 - 2 to 6 September 2010 - The World Science Fiction Convention, operating under the name, Aussiecon4, as this is the fourth time it has exhibited in Australia. A science fiction convention that aims to bring together fans, writers, readers, artists, publishers and more. Melbourne Convention and Entertainment Centre.

  • Eighth International Conference on the Book - 6 to 8 November 2010. The conference aims to examine the past, current, and future role of the book. Speakers come from the areas of publishing, editing, librarianship, printing, authoring and information technologies. University of St Gallen, Switzerland, Scotland.
